December 2008
–Ruzicka Associates took bold steps to work with Lake County
government to help create a plan to keep local dollars in the area to
benefit all residents. We are pleased at the quick response of our
local Government to the economic difficulties affecting the Country,
State and our own community.
November 2008 –
Ruzicka Associates teamed up with a large Iraqi construction company
to create a proposal for a design/build project for the Iraqi Border
Patrol. Due to our excellent teamwork skills, Ruzicka Associates was
able to quickly create a budget, timeline and methodology for
designing over 600 miles of road in a six month time period! We are
awaiting notification on the award status of this project.
October 2008 –
Ruzicka Associates received a HubZone Designation by the Small
Business Administration. This designation will allow Ruzicka
Associates to be more competitive in bidding for Government
contracts, from the local level all the way up to the Federal level.
August 2008

Norman Stewart, our
senior
survey technician,
passed the LSIT exam and became certified as a Licensed Surveyor in
Training (LSIT).
June
2008
–
Eric Heppen, Assistant Engineer and IT Manager at Ruzicka
Associates, attended an AutoCad Civil 3D 2009 training course in
Sacramento, California. He is progressively updating all Ruzicka
Associate’s AutoCad software to this newest version. The
engineering and surveying staff is being trained by Eric to use the
software, and he hopes to have the entire staff transitioned to
Autocad 2009 before the end of 2008.
April 2008 – Clifford, Nancy and
Jill Ruzicka traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to explore
this fast-growing city where some of the most exciting development
and construction in the world are taking place. It was just one
portion of a trip to the Middle East which included being guests of
USAID/Iraq to attend a Community Action Partners II Annual
Conference in Irbil, Iraq to learn how community based humanitarian
groups are helping to rebuild Iraq.
December 2007 – Longtime Ruzicka
Associates employee Katie Johnson was promoted to Engineering
Services Coordinator. In her new position Katie will be interfacing
with our clients, engineers and surveying staff to provide smooth
and efficient job coordination.
September 2007 – Ruzicka Associates
was approached by Ellis World Alliance Corporation of Florida to be
part of a consortium of businesses to provide a proposal and bid to
the US Government for a Design/Build project for the repaving of a
runway and building of airplane hangars at the Al Asad Airbase, the
largest US Military airbase in Western Iraq. Although the job was
awarded to a Turkish Company that was already doing other work on
the base, it was a very educational and interesting experience for
the company. |
